Sunday Evening Reception Come and spend a delightful evening on the legendary Queen Mary. Steeped in history, the Queen Mary is the grandest ocean liner ever built. During her illustrious career, she has played many roles Ð from elegant ocean liner to World War II troopship. Dining and entertainment has been planned at the stern of the ship where you will find food stations, music, and quiet sitting areas located in the majestic settings of the Queen' s Salon, Royal Salon, King' s View Room, Victoria Room, and Brittania Salon. The Art Deco furnishings in these salons and banquet room remain a timeless masterpiece. Outside, the Verandah Grill together with the Sun Deck, Promenade Deck and Main Deck offer a delightful setting for those who want to watch the sunset and the illuminated downtown skyline while they dine and dance. Buses will leave the convention center beginning at 6:00 pm and return beginning at 9:30 pm. One admission ticket is included with full registration. Additional tickets may be purchased at $45; tickets for children 3-11 years old are $12.
Wednesday Evening Social Welcome aboard the motor yacht "Spirit" . Take a leisurely cruise within the Long Beach and Los Angeles breakwater and enjoy the warm Californian evening breeze in your hair as you watch pelicans returning from the deep azure of the Pacific silhouetted against the sunset. With the fading glow in the west, enjoy the dining, music and dancing as you marvel at the spectacle of the Queen Mary ablaze with light against the backdrop of the Long Beach Down Town evening skyline. Cruise past the Aquarium, Shoreline and Ports of Call Villages, Angels Gate Lighthouse and the Vincent Thomas and Desmond Bridges plus much, much more. The price for the cruise includes live entertainment and a five-entry buffet with all of the condiments, salad, desserts, coffee and tea included. The cruise will depart from Shoreline Village, Long Beach adjacent to the Convention Center. The gang plank will be raised at 7:00 pm and the yacht will return at 10:00 pm. The cost, in addition to registration fees, is $55. Please book early due to limited availability. Annual BaseBall Game Outing Each year M&M attends a baseball outing. This year we have purchased 57 tickets for the Anaheim Angels vs. Chicago White Sox for Tuesday, August 7th. The seats are just on the first base side of home plate, which is an excellent view. Cost of the ticket including bus transportation from/to Long Beach will be about $35.00. To reserve your seat, please contact Bob Koch via email. Annual Golf Tournament Meadowlark Golf Course is a picturesque golf course in the heart of Huntington Beach. The public course features numerous hazards and contoured, elevated greens making each hole a challenge to approach off the tee. The front nine, played on a mostly flat plateau at the northern end of the course, is much kinder than the back side. Most of the second nine plays through undulating hills and are surrounded by many mature trees. With a fully functional, well-lit driving range and professional staff, Meadowlark offers all of the beauty and challenge the average golfer craves. Once you' re in Long Beach, you can get around downtown without spending a penny. Our free Passport service connects the Convention Center, local hotels, restaurants, shops and attractions. Long Beach is also connected to downtown Los Angeles by the new Metro Blue Line. And you can get there in less than 55 minutes aboard this state-of-the-art light rail system. Queensway Bay Encompassing 300 acres of oceanfront, this area includes The Queen Mary, the Aquarium of the Pacific, Rainbow Harbor, Shoreline Village and Downtown Marina. It is only a short walk from the convention center and accessible by footbridge. Stroll the walk along the marina, eat in one of the many wonderful restaurants on the water, and enjoy a sunset view of the majestic Queen Mary across the bay. Aquarium of the Pacific The Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific is one of the largest aquariums in the United States! More than 12,000 marine animals representing over 550 species fill 17 major living habitats, 30 smaller exhibits and takes visitors on a journey throughout the Pacific Ocean' s three regions: Southern California/Baja; the Tropical Pacific and the Northern Pacific. Queen Mary Exhibits A floating city awash in elegance, the Queen Mary, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, remains one of the most famous ships in history. The Queen Mary features an on-board hotel, an elaborate Champagne Sunday Brunch, a variety of restaurants, a wedding chapel and 16 Art Deco reception salons for private celebrations, as well as exciting historical and mystical tours. The Ghosts and Legends tour takes you deep below decks for a haunting, interactive encounter with the supernatural. Decide for yourself, if you think she is haunted! Today, the 55-acre Queen Mary Seaport, where the Queen Mary is housed, includes the 365-stateroom Hotel Queen Mary; the Queen' s Marketplace and a shopping and dining area. Griffith Park - The Zoo/Observatory The Los Angeles Zoo is located in the heart of the nation' s second-largest city, a 113-acre site in Griffith Park. Each year 1.3 million visitors pass through the gates to view a collection of 1,200 animals from around the world. The Griffith Observatory has been a major Los Angeles landmark since 1935. It is visited by nearly two million people each year end ranks seventh on the list of major tourist attractions of Southern California. It sits on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood where it commands a stunning view of the Los Angeles basin below. Thousands of people enjoy the view from its balconies, especially at night. The Observatory is divided into three main areas: the Hall of Science astronomy museum, the telescopes, and the planetarium theater. All are open to the public and, except planetarium shows, are free of charge. The telescopes operate only when the sky is clear.

Follow the movement of Padre Junipero Serra, as he established each one on his move north, the first arrival of non-Native Americans to California. Life for the California Native Americans was forever changed. In addition to Christianity, the missions brought many other things to California such as livestock, fruits, flowers, grains and industry. This was the start of the civilization in which we live today.
