Passport/Visa Citizens or (permanent) resident of the United States: When you enter Canada, a customs officer may ask to see your passport. As a resident or citizen of the United States, you do not need a passport theoretically. However, to be on the safe side we recommend you carry either a valid passport or a proof of your citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a certificate of citizenship. In the last two instances, a valid picture ID is required. Citizens of countries other than the United States need a valid passport to enter Canada and, in some cases, a VISA may be required. Please check with your nearest Canadian embassy or consulate. However, the reservation must be done directly at the Residence Service of Laval University. All information concerning the summer residence housing is available on the web site of the Local Arrangements Committee (LAC) at: http://www.ulaval.ca/sres/ . Please refer to the information for student housing reservation for room booking, the LAC is not responsible for this service. Laval University is located about 3.5 miles from the Convention center. Express buses run every 15 minutes (line 800 and 801, and for low cost, will drive you between the University Campus and the Convention Center in less than 20 minutes.
