  Microscopy & Microanalysis '99
Pre Meeting Congress
July 31-Aug. 1, 1999

Optical Microscopy in the Next Millenium

As part of "Microscopy and Microanalysis '99", a special 2 day pre-meeting congress, "Optical Microscopy in the Next Millenium", being organized by Brian Herman, will be held to provide a forum for the discussion of new technologies and applications of optical microscopy that will impact our understanding of biological structure and function in the next millenium. Approximately 30 internationally known speakers will cover a broad range of topics including multiphoton microscopy, confocal microscopy, fluorescence lifetime microscopy, near field/atomic force microscopy, high resolution brightfield microscopy, laser tweezers, new fluorescent probes of cellular activity and protein-protein interaction, high throughput screening and drug development, automated image analysis, ion imaging, and more. Vendors will be available for participants to visit during the conference. More information on the participating speakers in the pre-meeting congress can be found at the MSA web site (www.msa.microscopy.com). Registration for the congress will be $70.00. Registration for the congress and M&M '99 meeting will be $250.00
