Florida Society for Microscopy

The Florida Society for Microscopy began in 1982 as a small group of professors and technicians from the University of South Florida meeting once a month to talk about subjects relating to electron microscopy. From this group was born FSEM--the Florida Society for Electron Microscopy, a non-profit educational society, for those interested in the microscopic world. We gather together for learning and camaraderie from all parts of the state. Like our parent Society, Microscopy Society of America (MSA), we changed our name to Florida Society for Microscopy (FSM) to reflect the interest of our society of all microscopies. We encourage members, student members and guests to present their research through poster sessions, workshops, and annual meetings. We also invite experts in the field to give workshops on various microscopy techniques that will enhance our knowledge in microscopy.
