Matt Caputo

Matt Caputo is a fourth year doctoral candidate at Youngstown State University (YSU) studying in the Materials Science & Engineering Program. Prior to that, Matt received a bachelor’s of science from Clarion University studying in the physics department. Currently, Matt’s doctoral work involves the additive manufacturing of Ni-Mn- Ga ferromagnetic shape memory alloys from various powder media, to investigate part functionality for potential actuator/sensor applications. Beyond that, his research interests are in thermo-physical properties and the mechanical behavior of porous shape memory alloys as well as additive manufacturing.
