X-25 Microscopy in the Classroom: How to Use It and How to Teach It

Local educators, school administrators, and registered conference attendees are invited to participate in this special session to:
- Learn how microscopy can be incorporated into classroom curricula and outreach programs to engage students in cutting-edge science learning
- Learn best practices for training students of all ages and backgrounds to work in the field
An open iscussion and vendor demonstrations will follow the presentations
X-26 Roundtable Discussion: Getting Started with Cryotechniques: Some Low Cost Options
Moderator: Kent McDonald
- Learn inexpensive ways to improve specimen preservation using cryotechniques
- Discuss why cryomethods give superior preservation of ultrastructure
- Learn about more sophisticated (and expensive) instruments for low temperature work
- Find out where to get basic reference material on cryotechniques
