Freshwater Chara sp. green alga is a member of the Charophyta, a group considered to be ancestral to land plants. Shown here are the sexual reproduction organelles of a monoecious species with the female oogonium and the male antheridium (orange). Focus stacking of 20 images in dark-field light microscopy.
