Harpacticoid copepod (possibly Tigriopus)

Copepods are the most abundant metazoan in the earth’s waters and are found in marine and fresh water, from lakes and streams to ocean trenches. This example was photographed under ultraviolet light which causes fluorescence of certain features; the stomach fluoresces red due to the chlorophyll-rich algae it has eaten.
